Frank John Glass is from Indian Navajo origins. He was born on October 10, 1911 in Phoenix, Arizona. He died on battlefield in Germany on February 26, 1945. As many young men of the mid-thirties, Frank was member of the Alleghny Mountain Association of the Amateur Union in Pennsylvania. He did boxing and won many victories. He married Jewel Fay Williams in 1934in Ohio and they had a son Lawrence Carter Glass. Frank joined the U.S. Army on October 11, 1943. His basics training took place at Camp Gordon (today known as Fort Gordon), Georgia and on DDay, he was in one of the 6 barges that landed on Omaha Beach. He was part of the 16 Batallion of the 1st Division. From Normandie, Frank's Division moved through France, Belgium and Germany. His head was badly hurt and he died because of his wounds on February 26, 1945. He is buried at the American Cemetery of Henri La Chapelle, Belgium.
